Grig

Grigs

Grigs are tiny (about the size of a cricket) fairies dressed all in green and wearing red hats made of flowers. The expression "as merry as a grig" is found all over Britain.

Origin

The grig is thought by Katherine Briggs to be an invention of Victorian era.
