Anggitay is a female centaur or centauride in the mythology of Philippine.

Description

As a centaur, Anggitay have the upper body of a female human and of a horse from waist down. Sometimes, they are illustrated to have a single horn in the middle of their forehead just like a unicorn.

Origin

Anggitay are believed to be the female counterpart of Tikbalang.


Powers

They were usually said to be attracted to precious gemstones, and jewelries. It is believed to be that the Anggitay usually appears when it rains although the sky is clear.
