Crime: In 1911 he broke into six Italian grocery shops and killed the Italian grocers and their wives. Went quiet for a few years until 1918 and 1919.
Notes: People of New Orleans enjoyed the horror with 'Axeman' parties where everyone dressed as Italian grocers and axemen. There was a popular song called 'The Mysterious Axeman's Jazz'.
