Blade is a fictional vampire hunter in the Marvel Comics universe created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan.  He first appeared in Tomb of Dracula #10.  He is half vampire and half human, which endows him with all of a vampire's strengths but none of their weaknesses (except for the thirst for blood).  Three successful films have been made about the character as well as a 13 episode television series, all written by David S. Goyer.
