Zhu Rong, also known as Chu Jong, is a God of Fire from Chinese mythology. He is regent of the southern quarter of heaven and helped in the division of heaven and earth.

It was said that Zhu Rong and the monster Gong-Gong one day fought each other in a contest to see who was mightier. Zhu Rong emerged victorious, and the depressed Gong-Gong attempted to commit suicide, thus creating a great flood
