Preliminaries
First and foremost, I am a Christian. That is the most important thing in my life, so I think that should be the first thing that you read about me here. Here is a thought that most of us can relate to. I have heard it depicted in numerous songs, poems and e-mails. It is this:
- I am not where I thought I would be.
- I certainly am not where I was.
- However, I know where I am going and I will follow God’s lead to get there.
It brings overwhelming peace when we truly accept God’s will in our lives. It is the ability to realise, when we look at where we are, and analyse the dreams we had, the plans we made, that we could have done better. However, God knew this and blessed us accordingly! It is the reflective moment we have when we realise how far we have come, how we have grown, how different we are. It is the confidence we have when we realize that God’s plan for us is an extraordinary display of His love, mercy and faithfulness.
I'm no ordinary Christian; if you stick around, I'll tell you more...
Monstropedia
I first became involved with Monstropedia way back in the day... well, in late summer 2005. I had started Administrating the Monstrous forum and become good friends with the site's owner, Loki. When he first raised his idea of a Monstrous MediaWiki, I was bitten by the bug of enthusiasm, and when the site was created that winter, I set about creating the help and how-to pages. There were a few problems in the spring of 2006, and it is only since April/May that work has really begun in earnest. Around 400 articles in, we're about halfway to where we'd like to be, but I'm still confident we will hit the beach running on the "official" launch date.
Edits/Contributions
A mixed bag; I have flitted around all of the sections and the easiest way to see what I've done is to click on my "user contributions"! If you are visiting Monstropedia and when looking at the "Recent Changes" don't see my user name much, that's because I am classed as a "bot" - click on the option to "show bots" and my edits will appear!
Userboxen
I don't care about the Wikipedia userbox controversy: this is Monstropedia and our philosophy is not theirs! I think userboxen are fun and utilitarian, and that's why they're here. To date, I have created all of the userboxen you see on Monstropedia - mostly from original concepts at Wikipedia, although some are entirely of my own design. Please feel free to create new ones - if you can't figure out how to make cut'n'pasted userboxen from Wikipedia work here, don't panic! If you compare the wikicode of ours with theirs, you'll very quickly grasp that you need to remmove the excessive {{{'s. Oh, and also their no include sections at the end. Don't forget that their userboxen links are internal to Wikipedia, too.
