There is much controversy over the difference between The Undead aka The Living Dead and their Counterparts. Here I will explain the very definitive difference between the two. First off, let me say this. In most of the horror films that feature, lets use the term Animated Corpses for a bland term. When a horror film includes this object, they usually follow its birth with a close set of details. These details can be minuscule and hard to point out, but 99% of the time they are there.

Ever since the first horror film was created ( Night of the Living Dead ) there have been many takes and views on them. But if you look closely at the Animated Dead that are portrayed in the film, they are what a proper undeadologist would call, The Living Dead.

The Living Dead are characterized by the following.

• Slow moving, and of very low intelligence.

• Weak, and rigid movements.

Those two characteristics are usually applied to that of the " Living Dead ", it is really about techs when separating them from Zombies.

In Order for the Animated Corpse to be classified as a Living Dead these following things need to have happened.

• They animated corpse in question needs to have been dead already before the aggression (Circumstance).

• A nuclear/chemical outbreak or warfare needs to have happened to infect the soil.

• Any experiment with a substance on a already dead corpse resulting in its reanimation is now The Living Undead.

{Example: From Night of the Living Dead 3, when they are testing on a already decimated corpse. It comes back to life and they coin it " The Living Dead"}

• Any magick/ritual that is used to bring up the dead, and is successful the following inhabitants are The Living Dead.

Q) What if a Living Dead bites a human?

A) In most cases, a human bitten/infected by a Living Dead will die, then rise to become a Zombie. {Relate further to the Zombie Article}

Q) Can the Living Dead give birth?

A) Technically they shouldn't be able to, but there have a been a couples films where a Zombie has given birth to the Living Dead. But if the Living Dead were to really occur, then its a high possibility that they shouldn't be able too.

Q) How did that work?

A) In the film, Dawn of the Dead [2005] the character by the name of Luna did indeed give birth. The reason for this phenomenon is the following reasons. Luna had already become pregnant before the infection was inflicted, so the growth of the fetus was allowed to continue normally. Also, the baby had a good nine months {Hypothesizing} to develop before the infection was given. Once it had infected Luna to a point of her near death, her child most certainly died, not from the infection but from the mothers distress and sickness. At the moment of the child's death, it became legally "Dead" before the aggression {Infection} reanimated it at the moment of the mothers death. Thus when the mother reanimated as a zombie the child did as well by means of the chemical warfare on the body, thus returning to world as a "Living Dead"

Q) What do they eat? A) Some say this is obvious, but in fact it really isn't. Undead typically feed of soft, fleshy parts of the body {flesh, lower organs, limbs)

Q) But why do they say "Brains!!!" A) It is pretty amusing, in some cases there have been films that feature a Undead saying the famous catch phrase "Brains" but the fact is that Undead are far to weak and rotting to have the strength to rip people apart/crack open human skull. The few films that have featured this happening anyway are the following {Evil Dead 1-5, The Forest of Dead, Haunted House of Corsker, etc)

Q) So in most of the cases its Zombies who tear people apart/eat brains. A) Yes, though zombies will go for the easier kill, via the fleshing lower stomach with the innards and guts. But they do have the strength in most of the films featuring proper Zombies.
