A Panotian from the Nurenburg Chronicle, 1493

The Panotii (also Panotti and Panotioi, from the Greek words πᾶν and οὖς for "all ears") were a mythical tribe, described in medieval bestiaries as possessing large ears that covered their entire bodies.

Description

According to Pliny the Panotti have bizarrely large ears so huge that they were used in lieu of clothing and as blankets to shield their body against the chills of the night.
