Typically, the Sigbin walks backwards, lowering its head between its hind legs to stay hidden from other creatures particularly humans. It looks like a hornless goat with big ears that can clap like a pair of hands. Its tail is very long and flexible that can be used as a whip. Sigbins also give off disgusting odor.

Some people believed that the Sigbin attacks children during Holy Week. It kills for the hearts of the children that were being used as its amulets.
 
Based on the legend, a clan known as Sigbinan have command over the Sigbin creatures. They keep their Sigbin in jars of clay. [[Aswang]]s are also believed to have Sigbin as pets together with [[Wak Wak]]. A Sigbin is believed to attract wealth and luck to its owner that’s the reason why successful businessmen are said to be descendants of the Sigbinan families.
